Can I add a class after filing?

No. Classes cannot be added to a trademark application after it has been filed. Adding a class would expand the scope of protection, which requires a new examination; it cannot be done through an amendment to the existing application.

If you need protection in additional classes, a separate new application must be filed covering those classes. The two applications can run simultaneously, though each carries its own set of fees and goes through its own examination and opposition process.
