As a brand we have several variations of our logo, how do we protect them all?

In most jurisdictions, the only surefire way to protect all variants of your logo is to file a separate trademark application for each distinct version. Each application is examined independently and, if registered, provides protection for that specific version. Each application carries its own set of government fees.

Where the variations differ only in color, and the underlying design is the same, some jurisdictions allow a single application to cover multiple color versions. In the US, filing in black and white is the standard practice because it is considered to cover all color implementations of the same design. In the UK, a series mark application can cover minor variations in a single filing. Check the rules for each jurisdiction before deciding how to proceed.
