In most jurisdictions, the registration number is assigned at the time the application is filed and is available within a few business days of submission. In these jurisdictions, the filing number and registration number are the same.

The US is an exception: the USPTO issues both a filing (serial) number immediately upon submission and a separate registration number only after the application completes the full registration process. If you specifically need the registration number in the US, you will need to wait for the full registration to be confirmed, which typically takes 12 months or more.
