Will getting the name trademarked with the logo provide me rights over the words as well?

A combined mark (name and logo together) gives you rights over the combination as filed. It does not give you the same standalone rights over the words as a dedicated wordmark registration.

If a third party uses your name in a completely different visual presentation, your combined mark may provide some grounds to act if the name element is sufficiently distinctive. But a wordmark registration, which covers the name in any form, is the cleaner and more reliable basis for enforcement in that scenario.
