As a foreigner, do I need trademark registration to sell products in the US?

No. A trademark is not a trading license. Foreign nationals can sell products in the US without holding a US trademark registration.

Without registration, however, your brand has no formal legal protection in the US market. A third party can register the same or a similar mark and use that registration against you, or simply copy your branding with limited legal recourse available to you. Registration gives you the exclusive right to the mark in the US and the legal grounds to enforce it.
