The symbol ℠ stands for a service mark, a type of trademark denoting a service rather than a physical product. Its use is similar to the more well-known ™ symbol, and you'll find it more commonly used in the US. The usage of both these symbols doesn't adhere to any legal guidelines since they both represent trademarks that haven't been registered with an intellectual property office (yet).
