How often should I perform trademark monitoring?

The right frequency depends on the length of the opposition window in the jurisdictions where your mark is registered.

In most jurisdictions, the opposition window is two to three months after publication. Monthly monitoring is sufficient for these markets: even if you miss a newly published application in one monthly search, you will catch it in the next while the window is still open.

In the US, the opposition window is only 30 days. When monitoring the register on a monthly basis, you run the risk of missing a confusingly similar application entirely. US applicants should consider weekly or bi-weekly monitoring instead.
