Two mechanisms can alert you to a similar application.

Some IP offices notify existing trademark holders when the examiner identifies a confusingly similar new application. The EUIPO, for example, sends such notifications as part of its examination process. This is a useful alert but is not consistent across all jurisdictions and should not be relied upon as the sole method.

The more reliable approach is to actively monitor the relevant IP office databases, either manually or through a trademark monitoring service. This ensures you are informed of conflicting applications in time to act within the opposition window, regardless of whether the IP office sends a notification.

Set up trademark monitoring with Trama to catch similar filings as soon as they appear.
