An invoice can be an acceptable specimen for services (Classes 35–45) in cases where it clearly identifies the services provided under the mark. What must be included in the invoice is a prominent display of the trademark, alongside a specific description of the services present in the trademark application itself.

Invoices are not acceptable as specimens for goods (Classes 1–34) under any circumstances. For goods, the specimen must show the mark in direct association with the goods available for purchase.
