Can I submit my business card as a trademark specimen?

A business card can technically be an acceptable specimen for services (Classes 35–45), but it is generally not recommended. Business cards frequently fail to meet the requirement that the specimen clearly identify the specific services offered under the mark. If the examiner cannot determine what services are being provided from the card, it will be refused.

A website screenshot or other marketing material that clearly describes the services alongside the mark is a more reliable option for services. Business cards are not acceptable as specimens for goods under any circumstances.
