If my trademark application is successful in one country, does it mean anything for my registration in another?

Trademark applications are reviewed independently in each jurisdiction, so no. Your successful registration in one country does not automatically guarantee success in another. Before filing another application, you should perform another clearance check for that jurisdiction, specifically, because the outcome depends entirely on the local office's examination and whether your mark is distinctive enough without conflicting with previously registered marks.

The one limited exception is Paris Convention priority: if you file in a second country within six months of your first application, you can claim the earlier filing date as your priority date in the new jurisdiction. This affects who has priority over whom, but does not affect the examination itself.
