Does a combined mark offer the strongest protection?

There isn't a single trademark type that offers the strongest protection per se. The right approach and the right protection depend on your brand's assets and budget.

A wordmark provides the broadest protection for a name, covering it in any font, color, or style. On the other hand, a figurative mark protects the visual design as shown, and a combined mark protects the name and logo as used together, but does not independently protect either element on its own.

The most comprehensive protection is achieved by registering separate application types simultaneously. The name as a wordmark, the logo as a figurative mark, and the combination as a combined mark. If your budget is limited, a combined mark is often a practical compromise, as it protects the brand as it is actually used in commerce.
