Our business focuses mainly on providing pet styling services. Should I also include animals in the goods and services classification in the trademark application?

No. "Animals" is not a goods or services description that would be listed in a trademark application. The goods and services list describes what the business offers, not its subject matter.

For a pet styling business, Class 44 is the appropriate class. The description can specify "grooming salon services for pet animals" or "grooming of pets." This covers the core service offering against unauthorized use of the same or a confusingly similar mark in connection with pet grooming.

If the business also sells pet products (shampoos, accessories, food), those are covered by their respective product classes: Class 3 for pet care preparations, Class 18 for pet accessories, Class 31 for pet food.
