Can I use the word and image trademarks separately if I register them together?

A combined mark protects the name and logo when used together, not as two separate elements that exist outside of the combination. If you later use the name alone or the logo alone, those uses fall outside the scope of the combined mark. The exception to this rule is cases where the individual elements are distinctive enough to carry implicit protection.

To use both elements freely and independently under separate registrations, you need to file a wordmark application and a figurative mark application as two separate filings. Only then does each element have its own registration that can be enforced independently.
