Can I modify classes during the registration process?

No. Classes cannot be modified after the application has been filed. The scope of a trademark application is fixed at submission and can only be narrowed, not changed or expanded.

If the application has not yet been filed and is being prepared by a legal representative, changes can still be made before the draft is submitted. Once filed, removing a class is permitted but replacing or adding one is not. Any different or additional class requires a new separate application.
